Who?
Sascha Dive
When do you decide to become a Dj? Which year did you took the decision?
Around 2001/2002
How was the beginning of your dj career?
I began by playing at small parties around Frankfurt. Later on in 2006/2007 I played my first gigs in Frankfurt itself and then internationally with my first gigs outside of Germany in Belgium & the UK.
How was the dance scenes in your country when you were beginners?
I would say that when I began composing most things surrounding electronic music were happening in Frankfurt and Berlin. I came somewhat later to the DJ business so there were a lot of DJ`s and producers before me from whom I could gain invaluable advice and Inspiration.
How can you describe the actual dance scenes in your town?
There is a good music scene in Frankfurt. We have prominent clubs such as “Robert Johnson”, a well-stocked record store called GOSU and good producers such as Christian Burkhardt, Einzelkind & Markus Fix. There are in addition a number of upcoming producers as, for example, the guys from HardworksoftDrinks & Traffic so the scene is flourishing and, more importantly, still growing.
Can you mentioned some artist and labels which influences you in a positive way?
A good question as there are so many. In the past I was heavily into Theo Parrish, Moodymann, Freaks, Herbert, Jay Tripwire, Hipp-E & Halo just to name a few! Currently I am impressed by the Stuff From S.A.M., Mandar Labels, Slow to Speak, Imprint etc..
What are you doing actually? Who are you working with any label or artist? Which music format will be released ?
At this moment I am working Luke Hess on our next EP on Minimood with a big, surprising remix package. We will release this only on Vinyl.
Last, for the new people who want to get involved in the music industry, what’s your advices?
Work hard on realizing your dreams and ambitions. Find “your” sound and keep on making music – albeit with variations on the theme. Never shy away from trying new directions and/or ideas!
